Description
Partnering with one of their clients in the Government industry, Robert Half is reviewing candidates for a Payroll Administrator position. Administering the accurate and timely production of payroll for employees will be one of the main tasks of the Payroll Administrator. To succeed in this role, you should have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. What you get to do every single day
Adhere to current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting
Work with Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems
Ensure timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
Examine data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave
Expand systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data
Investigate pay practices related to FLSA, other payroll areas, and fringe benefit reporting to determine how those practices apply to advise management
Supervise voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities
Carry out regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger
Organize quarterly and year-end payroll reports
Accommodate staff with fringe benefits, pay related issues, general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, and wage deductions
Requirements
3+ years of payroll experience
Proven knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration
ADP Financial Services experience desired
Great Plains (GPAC) experience
Well-founded grasp of About Time
Kronos Timekeeping System experience
Quality experience with Deductible
Practical knowledge of check processing
Knowledge of Ceridian
General familiarity with Benefit Functions
Experience with Lawon ERP
Experience with HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets
FPC or CPP required
Successful track record in various withholdings, processing liens, and garnishments
