Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the Government sector, located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Finance Division, including but not limited to, capital assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide training to accounting technicians across various areas of responsibility, including accounts payable, capital assets, and stormwater management.

• Manage user access to multiple accounting websites and maintain, manage, and organize records.

• Prepare general ledger account balance reconciliations and oversee the timely deposit of all revenue in banks.

• Oversee the daily accounting activities such as cash receipts, disbursements, and cash management.

• Review, approve, and post general journal entries, credit card transactions, and monthly sales tax submissions.

• Ensure the timely billing and collection of stormwater fees and manage unclaimed funds.

• Assist and train departments with accounting rules, coding, and software.

• Assist with managing bank balances and the annual accounting audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

• Recommend and assist with implementing improved processes, and procedures.

• Complete monthly and annual close process in the accounting system.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Auditing and Billing Functions

• Proficiency in Oracle, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, and Reconciliations

• Familiarity with Statement Reconciliations and Ledger Reconciliations

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation, Post Journal Entries, and Prepare Journal Entries

• Knowledge of Month-end Journal Entries Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Demonstrable experience with accounting functions.

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in performing auditing tasks.

• Ability to handle billing functions effectively.

• Proficiency in Oracle.

• Familiarity with General Ledger.

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations.

• Ability to perform various types of reconciliations.

• Experience in Statement Reconciliations and Ledger Reconciliations.

• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation.

• Ability to post and prepare journal entries.

• Experience in making month-end journal entries.
