A Robert Half client located in the western suburbs is immediately seeking a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, cash processing and reporting, financial statements, budgeting, and payroll. To be consider for the Senior Accountant role, legal or law firm industry is a must. The Senior Accountant will also need to possess strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Financial Reporting: Prepares financial management reports, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end data capture and reporting of same to the Financial Committee and the Firm Administrator. Ensure sound financial management processes include development and maintenance of financial databases that drive financial reporting. Protects organization's value by keeping financial information confidential.
General Ledger: Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. Maintain fixed asset processing and reporting.

Propose, establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures, including identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data.
Cash Processing and Reporting:
Daily monitor bank activities on-line and update cash balance in internal reporting systems. Input check requests and invoices, ensuring proper coding of general ledger, vendor and client accounts. Input daily deposits and bank wire transactions into PCLAW and produce deposit information for review. Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts in Excel and in PCLAW.
Financial Statements: Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures. Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other financial statements.
Budgeting: Develop and maintain corporate budget reports including continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities. This includes evaluation of business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenue streams. Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Payroll: Responsible for seeing that new employees and employee status changes are maintained in the payroll system. Produces the bi-weekly payroll by verifying time sheet information in ADP online EZ Labor timekeeping system, including verification and tracking of overtime and PTO. Finalizes payroll in the online ADP payroll system.
