Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Nashua, New Hampshire

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk, based in Nashua, New Hampshire. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting duties, with a focus on invoice processing, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling confidential aspects of accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process invoices for payment, ensuring all documentation is accurate and approved.

• Sort and distribute incoming mail relevant to the accounting department, ensuring critical documents are directed to the appropriate staff.

• Execute 3-way PO matching invoices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Support weekly check, ACH, and Wire payment runs by associating invoices to payment support, distributing checks accordingly, and filing all completed accounting records.

• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

• Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practices.

• Assist Accounting Manager and Regional Controller as necessary, engaging in critical and confidential aspects of accounting.

• Maintain records for the credit department on incoming cash and prepare related journal entries from information provided.

• Post customer payments by recording direct deposit, checks, and credit card transactions.

• Serve as a backup for daily customer invoicing per Customer Master parameters.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks effectively and efficiently.

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the Machinery Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrable experience in Billing, Data Entry, and Invoice Processing

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

• High level of proficiency in managing financial data and creating reports.
