Robert Half Assistant Controller in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

Our client in the radio business is looking for an INTERIM Assistant Controller for a few months ONSITE in Nashville, Tennessee. The successful candidate will support our financial division with daily operations, including monitoring financial activities, supervising staff, preparing financial reports, and maintaining financial systems and procedures according to the client's principles and ethics.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Controller with managing financial activities of the radio station.

  2. Supervise accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing, etc.

  3. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance and ensure the compliance with all Federal, State, and Local financial legal requirements.

  4. Support budgeting, forecasting, and auditing processes.

  5. Ensure all financial transactions are conducted and recorded according to established controls, standards, rules, and regulations.

  6. Implement, maintain, and follow internal financial controls and processes.

  7. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  8. Maintain regular professional and respectful communications with staff, vendors, and clients.

  9. Foster a workspace that aligns with the station's values.

    Requirements

  10. A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field.

  11. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within a media or broadcasting company.

  12. In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.

  13. Strong proficiency in MS Office and other accounting software.

  14. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and auditing skills.

  15. Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed.

  16. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

  17. CPA or related certification is an advantage.

  18. Alignment with our principles is essential.
