Finance Manager

Position Summary:

This role will handle various trade management programs, promotions, and pricing activities for the company. The Finance Manager / Trade Deductions will report directly to the VP-Finance. Their main task will be to oversee and control trade spending while improving the effectiveness of sales promotions. This role is essential in supporting the company's revenue growth strategy. The position entails examining promotional activities, ensuring customer compliance, and engaging in cross-functional collaborations with the Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to obtain successful program outcomes.

Role Duties:

• Guarantee that all necessary Trade Spend funds are logged in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, verifying invoice accuracy and alignment with Trade Promotion Management (TPM) approved deductions.

• Establish accurate and efficient recording and reporting of all current and resolved deductions, offering financial understanding on process gaps and opportunities.

• Offer guidance to identify and address all kinds of deductions and chargebacks quickly and effectively, comprehending their impact on sales, the balance sheet, and the profit and loss statement.

• Design, apply, and sustain financial models that facilitate the annual budget and forecasting process, ensuring that sufficient accruals are taken into account for promotional activities.

• Proactively evaluate and revise the current deductions process, identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate across different areas like Sales, Brokers Accounts Receivable, and Customer Service Teams to ensure rapid and precise resolution of all cash on account and validation of deductions; find and address non-compliance and root cause issues.

• Monitor sales team key performance indicators for the efficiency of deduction processing and promotion entry and maintenance.

• Oversee administrative functions of the Trade Promotion Management system, including related customer and supplier portals.

• Keep and distribute customer price lists to the sales and marketing teams.

• Conduct business reports for monthly reviews with sales leadership.

• Assist with Ad hoc tasks including analysis linked to promotional planning and event level Return on Investment.

• Perform review and analysis of special projects, keeping management properly informed.

• Support Customer Service with Trade related pricing maintenance.

Requirements

Qualifications Needed:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is necessary while an MBA is highly favorable.

• 3+ years' experience in Revenue and Deductions Management within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector - experience in both Grocery and Foodservice is preferred.

• Aptitude in data handling, system operation, process improvement, with the ability to scrutinize information, resolve problems and make suggestions.

• Strong analytical and technical skills, along with critical thinking and strategic planning abilities.

• Exceptional time management proficiency in addition to the ability to juggle multiple tasks and arrange work.

• Knowledge and expertise in all aspects of sales administration in a CPG setting.

• Capability to integrate third-party and in-house data, comprehending the significance of precise data.

• Practical knowledge of retail merchandising and in-store execution tactics is advantageous.

• A keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
