They've partnered with an esteemed organization to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Needham, Massachusetts based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / contract / temporary basis. They provide an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.
Responsibilities
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Efficient in ERP systems
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Microsoft Excel experience desired
QuickBooks experience required
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong attention to detail
