Description Robert Half has a career-building opportunity for a Staff Accountant with experience and skill to join their team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Neenah, Wisconsin area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Financial statement preparation experience
Deep understanding of budgeting
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Great attention to detail
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Recent and relevant accounting experience
