Description

We are providing an opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. This role involves overseeing financial reporting and analysis, leading the month-end close process, managing accounting professionals, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

• Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.

• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

• Support audits and stay updated with changes in accounting standards, ensuring the company’s compliance.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the day-to-day financial operations.

• Oversee accounts receivable and general ledger functions.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.

• Maintain and enhance accounting systems and software, ensuring data integrity and security.

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management on financial performance as needed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. 2+ years of audit experience in a Public Acounting firm is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA certification is required.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Systems Implementation experience is a plus

  • Experience in the Manufacturing or Consumer Products industry is a plus.
