Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and financial analysis. This role also involves team leadership and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in line with GAAP and company policies, generate timely and accurate financial reports for management review.

• Support the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger system, review and reconcile GL accounts, and identify and resolve discrepancies as needed.

• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensure compliance with internal controls, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, analyze trends, variances, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, monitor budget variances and provide insights to management on financial performance as needed.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records, monitor customer credit accounts, and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.

• Utilize a range of skills including Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • 2+ years of Audit experience in a Public Accounting firm is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Systems Implementation experience is a plus.

  • Experience in the Manufacturing or Consumer Products industry is a plus.

  • CPA designation preferred.
