Description This reputable company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half Finance who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the New Castle, Delaware region.
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Prior work done in public accounting is desired
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Great attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
CPA or MBA preferred
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Solid understanding of CPA
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
