Robert Half Controller in New Hampton, Iowa

Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team based in New Hampton, Iowa. This role is pivotal to our operations, providing leadership to the accounting team and overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations. In addition, the Controller will play a crucial role in analyzing inventory data, monitoring expenses, and aiding in Human Resources activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire range of accounting operations, including tax filings and compliance with tax laws and regulations.

• Manage a team of three accounting staff, providing guidance and ensuring their skills are continually developed.

• Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly basis and provide the management team with detailed variance analysis.

• Develop and implement benchmarks and key performance indicators to continually improve the company's operational and financial performance.

• Analyze inventory data and provide insightful information to management to predict future demand.

• Enhance the inventory control processes and oversee the physical inventory process.

• Monitor and analyze costs associated with the warehouse and the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers.

• Assist in all Human Resources activities within the company.

• Liaise with the tax firm, providing all necessary information for the annual filing of tax returns.

• Collaborate with IT firm regarding hardware and software issues. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller or similar role

• Proven expertise in Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation

• Experience with Annual Physical Inventory management

• Familiarity with bi-Monthly Payroll processing

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management skills

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
