Description
We are on the lookout for a meticulous Medical Scheduler to be a part of our team in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry. Situated in North Haven, Connecticut, this role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Medical Scheduler, you will be instrumental in managing patient appointments, sustaining precise patient records, and handling patient inquiries. You will also be accountable for overseeing patient accounts and initiating appropriate action.
Responsibilities:
• Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
• Manage and organize patient appointment scheduling
• Perform appropriate actions related to patient accounts as required
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient credit records
• Ensure efficient processing of patient credit applications
• Utilize Epic Cadence or similar systems for scheduling appointments
• Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and data security
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and service
• Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare professionals for scheduling related concerns
• Continually update patient records and appointment schedules to reflect any changes
Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Higher education or relevant certifications will be considered an advantage.
• Proven experience in a medical scheduling role or similar within the healthcare industry is essential.
• Familiarity with the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry is required.
• Proficiency in using the Epic Cadence scheduling system is a must.
• Ability to schedule appointments efficiently, considering factors such as urgency, patient availability, and resource allocation.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for interacting with patients, medical professionals, and administrative staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for managing multiple schedules and tracking appointments.
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially as per HIPAA guidelines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is beneficial.
• The applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress effectively.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
• The candidate must display a compassionate and patient-centered approach to their work.
