Robert Half Auditing Clerk in New Hyde Park, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Auditing Clerk in the insurance industry. The role will be based in New Hyde Park, New York. The Auditing Clerk will handle a range of tasks including auditing billing preparation, reviewing policy premium payments, and assisting in cash collections.

Responsibilities:

• Review policy premium payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Prepare audit billing documents, ensuring they meet industry and company standards.

• Regularly review daily cancellation reports for any discrepancies or issues.

• Assist the cash collections department in their day-to-day operations.

• Scan and organize documents for easy retrieval and reference.

• Review and approve refunds, ensuring they align with company policies.

• Handle collections, ensuring the timely recovery of payments.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

• Prepare audit reports, providing detailed and accurate information.

• Maintain an organized filing system for all audit documents and reports. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential to efficiently manage and analyze data.

• Experience in preparing and maintaining audit reports is necessary for accurate record-keeping.

• Ability to scan and digitize documents is required to ensure proper record maintenance.

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices is essential for accurate auditing.

• Strong attention to detail is necessary for identifying discrepancies or inconsistencies in financial data.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively convey audit findings to the team and clients.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is crucial to manage multiple audits simultaneously.

• Proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite applications would be beneficial.

• Familiarity with insurance industry practices and regulations is advantageous for accurate auditing.

• A degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in an auditing role within the insurance industry would be beneficial.

• Strong analytical skills are needed to interpret and evaluate financial data.

• High ethical standards and professionalism, respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
