Robert Half is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Corporate Controller to join the ranks at a well-respected and growth oriented specialty business services company company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting department reporting directly to the CFO and requiring a CPA designation. As the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Your primary responsibilities will encompass financial reporting, financial analysis, treasury management, cash flow oversight, and multistate tax compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial background, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic insights to support organizational decision-making. Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Coordinate the financial close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting deadlines.
Communicate financial results to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
Conduct thorough financial analyses, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for measuring financial performance.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management:
Manage and optimize the organization's liquidity, ensuring efficient cash flow and working capital management.
Oversee banking relationships, monitor cash positions, and implement cash forecasting processes.:
Monitor and analyze cash flow activities..
Implement controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
Multistate Tax Oversight:
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations across multiple states.
Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of multistate tax returns.
Collaborate with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting professional growth and development.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA required.
Proven experience in a senior finance role, with a focus on financial reporting, analysis, treasury, and tax.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with multistate tax regulations and compliance requirements.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Monthly Financial Reporting experience
Adeptness in Tax Accounting
Cash management experience preferred
Solid understanding of NetSuite
