Robert Half Accounting Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a well established New Orleans non-profit organization in search of a dynamic Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial reporting for annual budgets including operating, grants, program, and fundraising. Your tasks will also include managing the accounting systems, ensuring timely and accurate financial information, and supporting outstanding donor relations. Responsibilities:

• Record all transactions in the ERP, including but not limited to entering cash transactions, updating investment account activity, and processing weekly accounts payable.

• Assist with collections of accounts receivable and support respective departments by tracking invoices and recording donations.

• Understand grant applications submitted by the organization, assist with development of grant and operating budgets, and track unrestricted and restricted funds according to GAAP.

• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and manage banking functions, including cash transfer requests and monthly cash account reconciliations.

• Reconcile credit card accounts on a monthly basis and assist with other filings and finance projects as necessary.

• Oversee the monthly and quarterly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.

• Maintain appropriate internal controls for all accounting functions and manage grant award accounting within revenue recognition policy guidelines.

• Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements.

• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the audit committee of the board of directors.

• Coordinate planning for and lead the annual budgeting process in conjunction with the staff; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes in the organization’s financial status.

• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

Requirements

• Proficient in performing comprehensive Accounting Functions

• Experienced in conducting thorough Auditing

• Capable of managing Billing Functions effectively

• Skilled in preparing Financial Statements

• Can handle Month End Close responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in Grant Accounting

• Experienced in managing Payroll operations

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor

• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is an advantage.
