Robert Half Patient Access Representative in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description

We are seeking a diligent Patient Access Representative for our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the initial contact for our patients, addressing inquiries, and maintaining an organized schedule. Your role will also include supporting the management team and ensuring a seamless workflow within the clinic. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Address patient inquiries in a courteous and detail-oriented manner

• Organize patient appointments efficiently, ensuring optimal clinic workflow

• Work collaboratively with the clinic's management team to enhance patient experience

• Manage incoming telephone calls, directing them to the relevant departments

• Ensure precise patient records through meticulous maintenance and updates

• Utilize your customer service skills to effectively manage patient complaints

• Welcome patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and efficient process

• Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure a high standard of patient care

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting, ideally in a similar Patient Access Representative role

  • Strong customer service abilities, including a proven track record of handling and resolving customer complaints effectively

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals efficiently

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, handling multiple patient inquiries and tasks simultaneously

  • Familiarity with healthcare systems and processes, including patient registration and appointment scheduling

  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and health insurance policies to assist patients accurately

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations

  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and software, particularly those related to patient data management

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address patient concerns or issues regarding access to healthcare services

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure, providing patient-focused service at all times

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required
