Description
We are seeking a diligent Patient Access Representative for our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the initial contact for our patients, addressing inquiries, and maintaining an organized schedule. Your role will also include supporting the management team and ensuring a seamless workflow within the clinic. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Address patient inquiries in a courteous and detail-oriented manner
• Organize patient appointments efficiently, ensuring optimal clinic workflow
• Work collaboratively with the clinic's management team to enhance patient experience
• Manage incoming telephone calls, directing them to the relevant departments
• Ensure precise patient records through meticulous maintenance and updates
• Utilize your customer service skills to effectively manage patient complaints
• Welcome patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
• Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure a high standard of patient care
Requirements
Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting, ideally in a similar Patient Access Representative role
Strong customer service abilities, including a proven track record of handling and resolving customer complaints effectively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals efficiently
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, handling multiple patient inquiries and tasks simultaneously
Familiarity with healthcare systems and processes, including patient registration and appointment scheduling
Basic understanding of medical terminology and health insurance policies to assist patients accurately
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in healthcare administration or related field is a plus
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations
Proficient in the use of computer systems and software, particularly those related to patient data management
Strong problem-solving skills to address patient concerns or issues regarding access to healthcare services
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure, providing patient-focused service at all times
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required
