Robert Half Payroll Administrator in New Orleans, Louisiana


This Payroll Administrator position may be for you if you are seeking a challenging position with an industry leader and a strong career growth opportunity. Partnering with one of our clients in the construction industry, Robert Half is recruiting candidates for a Payroll Administrator position. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. The Payroll Administrator will contribute to the production of accurate and timely payroll for all employees in a multi-company organization. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the New Orleans, Louisiana area.

How you will make an impact

  • Meet current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

  • Perform review of data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

  • Direct voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

  • Devise systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data

  • Manage quarterly and year-end payroll reports

  • Review payroll areas, fringe benefit reporting, and pay practices related to FLSA to determine how those practices apply to advise management

  • Collaborate with Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems

  • Be of help to staff with PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, general questions related to payroll, and other pay related issues

  • Lead regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

  • Establish timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles


  • FPC or CPP will be advantageous

    • Background in garnishments, various withholdings, and processing liens

    • Familiarity with HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

  • Payroll Tax experience

  • Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

  • Garnishments experience preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Certified Payroll

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
