Description A company in the New Orleans, Louisiana area has an opening for a Payroll Manager. The candidate will oversee all aspects of payroll operations, including vendor management, systems, and processes & integration, in this Payroll Manager role. Responsibilities

  • Provide internal safeguards by taking the lead on record keeping and control systems

  • Propose, lead, and work on projects in an effort to improve current processes

  • Lead payroll staff as well as operations

  • Handle pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies

  • Provide information to senior executives and cross-functional business leaders and respond to any questions they may have

  • Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

  • Keep track of financial trends by completing payroll analysis

  • Start a strong team and lead it to much success

  • Take responsibility for internal and external audits

  • Work alongside fellow members of senior Finance leadership team

  • Oversee the production of all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Interpret pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are applied correctly to various earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification urged

  • Well versed in a range of payroll applications

  • Command of International Payroll

  • Proficiency in payroll

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HRIS Payroll System

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • To succeed at this position, you should have sound knowledge of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • To succeed at this position, you should have strong interpersonal skills
