Robert Half Sr. Accountant in New Orleans, Louisiana

Description We are offering a role in the finance sector, specifically as a Sr. Accountant, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The main job function involves planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, and leading departmental staff. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, payroll

• Handle month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet

• Conduct account reconciliations and G/L analysis

• Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

• Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure timely cash collection

• Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

• Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

• Handle both high level and day to day functions while working directly with the accounting/administration team, executive leaders, and operations

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Payroll Taxes, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel. Requirements • Must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred

• Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with account reconciliation is necessary

• Knowledge of payroll taxes and related laws is essential

• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent analytical skills for understanding and interpreting financial data

• Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial staff

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must

• Must have strong organizational and planning skills.
