Description
Our firm is seeking a skilled professional to lead our Baton Rouge office tax section. As part of our team, you will experience exciting challenges and grow alongside our firm. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be well-versed in tax law and will have strong technical ability. They will be able to work as part of a team to complete tasks timely and within budget and continuously take on greater responsibilities to quickly advance to the partner level. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead and supervise tax staff in the Baton Rouge office.
Work as an effective team member to complete engagements and assigned tasks.
Build strong working relationships internally and with clients.
Demonstrate an active interest in the business world by keeping abreast of market trends and business developments.
Review individual, estate, gift, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit returns.
Represent clients before tax authorities.
Research tax questions raised by clients and staff and effectively present findings, both orally and written.
Monitor the progress of engagements in relation to budgets and due dates.
Monitor billing and collection procedures for assigned clients.
Supervise staff training and foster their development through mentoring and coaching.
Participate in the recruitment and retention of professional staff.
Actively participate in practice development by recognizing opportunities to expand service offerings to existing clients.
Maintain a positive attitude and be receptive to constructive feedback.
Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve services and work processes.
Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in a related field. CPA designation is required.
Applicants should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant position experience.
Functional knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code is required.
Must be able to lead, build, and manage diverse teams for projects assigned.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
Must be willing and able to work overtime during peak times.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
Effective and professional oral and written communication skills.
A high degree of professionalism, including the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
