Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in New Paltz, New York
Description
We are currently in search of an experienced Bookkeeper to handle our day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate should have a meticulous attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. They will be comfortable with heavy Accounts Payable (AP), including cutting checks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all financial data and process it in the general ledger system.
Maintain and reconcile financial statements to ensure accuracy.
Responsible for all aspects of accounts payable including data input, authorization of payments, check issuance, and vendor management.
Prepare and post transactions, ensuring debits and credits are accurately reflected.
Run payroll for 8-10 employees using ADP system.
Monitor office expenses and carry out necessary processes to control costs.
Work closely with the team and contribute to team efforts and collaboration.
Provide support to the management team during company audits.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles, including debits, credits and the general ledger.
Highly competent with SAGE 50.
Proficiency in running payroll via ADP.
Exceptional communication skills with an ability to articulate clearly and ask relevant questions.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Must be a team player and demonstrate an ability to work well with others.
