Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in New York, New York

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an entry-level Accountant in New York. This role is within the hospitality industry, and will involve assisting with customer service, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and group billing. The workplace is a Manhattan-based hotel, where the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the processing of customer service requests, ensuring all inquiries are addressed in a timely and efficient manner

• Handle accounts payable processes, ensuring all payments are made accurately and on schedule

• Manage accounts receivable, ensuring all payments are received and recorded accurately

• Assist with group billing, ensuring all charges are accounted for and billed correctly

• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, providing accurate and timely information for management

• Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations

• Use advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze financial data

• Provide additional accounting support as needed. Requirements • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Proven understanding of general accounting principles.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks according to deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and willingness to uphold them.

• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

• Possession of or working towards a CPA certification would be an advantage.

• Familiarity with accounting software is preferred.

• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

• Demonstrable ethical standards and professional conduct.
