Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk based in New York, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within the financial services industry. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing invoices and purchase orders, preparing payments, reconciling statements, and maintaining communications with suppliers and vendors.
Responsibilities:
• Processing invoices and purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Preparing payments for suppliers and vendors
• Reconciling statements and AP aging reports
• Monitoring and following-up on credits
• Communicating effectively with suppliers and vendors
• Utilizing accounting software and MS Excel to perform job functions
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
• Using knowledge of general ledger accounts and their relation to invoices in daily tasks
• Managing data entry tasks related to account reconciliation and invoice processing
• Utilizing MS Great Plains Dynamics for various accounting tasks Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Proven experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to perform Check Runs
• Skilled in Coding Invoices
• Capable of efficient Data Entry
• Experience in Invoice Processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of MS Great Plains Dynamics
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with financial software and systems
• Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
