Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in NEW YORK, New York
Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your reponsibility. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity is at a New York, New York based company where effort is rewarded and the environment is thriving.
Your responsibilities in this role
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Experience with ERP systems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Proficiency in Automation
Foundational knowledge in Enter Invoices
Approved Invoices experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Adeptness in Code Invoices
Microsoft Excel experience
High attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
