Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in New York, New York
Description We are providing an opportunity to join our team in the non-profit industry as an Accounts Payable Specialist in New York. This role involves managing accounts payable in our organization, which includes processing invoices, maintaining records, and assisting with various accounts payable tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the preparation and processing of invoices efficiently
• Ensure accurate entry of invoices for payment
• Conduct bi-weekly check disbursements and prepare deposits
• Assist in the preparation of applicable audit information related to accounts payable
• Oversee the management of petty cash and 1099s
• Conduct analysis and generate ad-hoc reports as required
• Maintain and update Microsoft Excel records regularly
• Utilize Abila MIP/other nonprofit accounting systems for various tasks
• Manage discrepancies in accounts payable
• Participate in other tasks assigned by the manager Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role within the non-profit sector
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other related software
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice payment and processing
• Ability to handle check processing and cash disbursements
• Strong skills in data entry and analysis
• Experience in managing petty cash and disbursements
• Familiarity with Abila MIP software is a plus
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
• Experience in Ad Hoc Reporting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
