Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in NEW YORK, New York
Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. If you are a self-starter with high attention to detail, you will be a good fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, which handles 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the New York, New York area.
How you will make an impact
Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans
Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders
Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Verify documents and codes Requirements - Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Knowledge of cash applications
Credit collections experience preferred
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
