Robert Half Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Manager in New York, New York

Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in the retail clothes and accessories industry, located in New York, New York. The role involves managing accounts receivable for subsidiaries in the U.S and Canada, overseeing customer credit limits, and reconciling daily factor AR transactions at month-end.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Receivable for U.S and Canada subsidiaries

• Oversee the setting and adjustment of customer credit limits

• Supervise the posting of customer payments and unresolved chargebacks

• Lead the process of customer account reconciliations

• Inform management of any collection issues and manage the collection process

• Regularly review Accounts Receivable Aging Reports for past due issues

• Manage and mentor a direct report

• Maintain relationships with AR Factor and with Wholesale and Customer Relation Management teams

• Manage Bad Debt Accrual with Controller

• Support staff and management with ad hoc projects

• Adhere and comply with SOX controls and compliance

• Manage customer credit allowances.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of ERP Solutions and Great Plains (GPAC)

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400

• Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Billing Functions and Cash Activity

• Knowledge of Collection Processes. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Manager role, preferably in the retail industry, specifically clothes and accessories.

• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential.

• Must have experience using Great Plains (GPAC) and IBM AS/400 systems.

• Should have a strong understanding of accounting functions, specifically Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in billing functions and managing cash activity is required.

• Must have knowledge of collection processes.

• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven track record of improving accounts receivable processes and reducing overdue balances.

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is desired.
