Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA certification along with extensive experience in utilizing NetSuite for financial management and consolidations. The Assistant Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing various financial activities, including but not limited to accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Consolidate financial data from multiple entities using NetSuite and ensure data integrity.
Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
Accounting Operations:
Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Review journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial transactions for accuracy.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting standards.
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to facilitate the audit process.
Implement recommendations from audit findings to enhance financial controls.
System Optimization:
Utilize NetSuite ERP system to streamline financial processes and reporting.
Identify opportunities for system enhancements and coordinate implementation projects.
Provide training and support to finance team members on NetSuite functionalities.
Requirements
10+ years of experience. Public Accounting (Audit) Foundation
CPA required
Experience with month-end close procedures
Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standard
Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar accounting software
Understanding of US GAAP standards and requirements
Experience in handling consolidations in a real estate context
Technical accounting skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
