Description We are looking for a Benefits Manager to join our team in the Higher Education industry located in New York, New York. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. As a Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for conducting annual audits, ensuring compliance, managing leave of absence benefits, and coordinating with third-party administrators.
Responsibilities
• Oversee compliance updates and ensure adherence to regulations for cafeteria 125 plans.
• Manage the minimum premium plus arrangement, a hybrid between fully insured and self-insured plans.
• Administer Leave of Absence Benefits and coordinate with 3rd party leave administrators.
• Handle workers compensation claims and ensure employees receive their benefits.
• Participate in software data projects involving Payroll, HR, and Benefits.
• Conduct various audits including enrollment audit and FSA/ Non Discrimination testing.
• Collaborate with benefits brokers for the enrollment audit.
• Manage 403B audits ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Handle leave of absence payroll while maintaining the highest level of accuracy.
• Utilize skills such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Cisco Webex Meetings, CRM, Auditing, Benefit Functions, Claim Administration, Cobra Administration, and Communication. Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in managing benefits programs in a higher education setting
• Proficiency in using ADP Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now platforms
• Familiarity with Ceridian software and Cisco Webex Meetings
• Strong knowledge of CRM systems
• Previous experience in auditing, particularly related to benefits and compensation
• Ability to oversee benefit functions, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits
• Experience in claim administration and COBRA administration
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of state, federal and institutional regulations and policies on benefit programs.
