Location: New York, NY 10004
Schedule: On site 5 days/week
Salary: $55,000-$65,000
Job Description: Our client, a growing and dynamic law firm, is looking for a detail-oriented and bilingual Legal Assistant with 1+ years of experience in litigation to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and will have an understanding of legal procedures and documentation. You will play a crucial role in assisting our attorneys with case preparation, client communication, and administrative tasks. The law firm has practice areas in discrimination, equal pay, family & medical leave act, prevailing wage, severance negotiations, sexual harassment, tip theft, wage & hour, and whistleblower claims.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents (complaints), pleadings, and discovery requests.
Will be taking phone calls, doing intakes with clients, mailing, e-filing in federal court, date stamping, scheduling depositions, and distributing settlement funds
Conduct legal research and gather information relevant to ongoing cases.
Translate legal documents and correspondence between English and Spanish as needed.

NEEDS TO SPEAK SPANISH
1+ years of experience working as a legal assistant in a litigation environment.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
