Robert Half Bookkeeper in New York, New York

Description We are looking for a proficient Bookkeeper to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry based in New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and is fully onsite. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing customer transactions, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly.

• Handle the accounts payable and receivable functions of the organization.

• Utilize accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.

• Validate figures, postings, and documents for precise entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.

• Classify and record financial data to keep financial records updated.

• Use accounting software to debit, credit, and total accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases.

• Manage cash, checks, and voucher receipts, recording and banking them as required.

• Comply with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Generate statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports related to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. Requirements • Must have extensive experience in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Must have strong Bookkeeping skills

• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks with high level of accuracy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience in performing Month End Close processes

• Knowledge of Payroll management is essential

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks software is a must

• Must have a background in the Real Estate & Property industry

• The applicant must have strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Must be detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have a high level of integrity and reliability

• Knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines is desirable

• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
