Description We are in search of a meticulous Bookkeeper to be a part of our team, based in New York, New York. This role is in the real estate industry and requires a presence onsite. The Bookkeeper will be tasked with managing full cycle accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and reconciling multiple bank accounts. The employment opportunity offers a contract to hire arrangement.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations for multiple accounts ensuring accuracy in all transactions
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Utilize Yardi software for efficient and accurate bookkeeping
• Maintain precise customer credit records
• Process customer credit applications in an accurate and timely manner
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed
• Perform data entry tasks for transaction and account details
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data organization and financial reporting
• Manage month-end close processes. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation
• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations
• Knowledge and experience in bookkeeping
• Proficient in data entry tasks
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month end close procedures
• Familiarity with Yardi software
• Ability to prepare and make journal entries
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Must have legal right to work in the United States.
