Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Corporate Controller. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Corporate Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Requirements - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience
Command of CPA
General ledger experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of Lease Accounting
General familiarity with financial reporting
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Month end closings experience
Proven knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
CPA or MBA preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
