Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
CPA or MBA preferred
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Adeptness in general ledger
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP
Proficiency in SOX
US GAAP experience highly desired
General familiarity with financial reporting
Foundational knowledge in IFRS Accounting
Knowledge of retail
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
