About Our Client: Join an expanding entertainment holding company with ventures spanning television, film, theatrical live entertainment, interactive entertainment, software, consumer goods, and hospitality.
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting team, reporting directly to the CEO. The Controller will oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of financial information, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and business policies. Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of internal and external accountants.
Integrate personnel, processes, and systems across multiple subsidiaries.
Optimize finance applications, including Sage Intacct, Ramp, and others.
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Oversee Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, including daily review, payment release, and review of receivables.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
Prepare consolidated financial statements.
Assist with quarterly reporting to comply with debt covenants.
Review swap transactions.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Execute intercompany/affiliate billbacks and allocations.
Review monthly reconciliation schedules to ensure all transactions are recorded.
Maintain both accrual and cash basis financials.
Lead annual consolidated audits.
Oversee external tax preparation.
Implement and apply GAAP pronouncements.
Conduct various additional activities and ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of consolidation and intercompany transactions.
CPA with public accounting experience required.
Familiarity with Sage Intacct preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Must be proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Must have substantial knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Auditing experience is required
• Must be familiar with Budget Processes
• Must have experience preparing Consolidated Financial Statements
• Familiarity with Month End Close process is a must
• Knowledge of Swaps and Accruals in financial transactions is required
• Experience with Intercompany Transaction is necessary
• Proficiency in using Sage Intacct is a must
