Description Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Controller eager to join the team at a reputable Credit Union company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. What you get to do every day
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Deep understanding of Federal Credit Union
Foundational knowledge in KCT Credit Union
Corporate Accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Banking Industry
Command of Credit Union Policy
Adeptness in NCUA
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Vow to meet business deadlines
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
