The Human Resources & Accounting Coordinator is charged with supporting and implementing human resources & accounting strategies and initiatives consistent with the School’s mission, values, and initiatives. The individual will guide, facilitate, and manage employment-related services, including onboarding, retention, evaluation, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, and compensation. This role requires a responsive, actionoriented person who can operate both independently and as a vital team member within a fastpaced environment. Primary accounting and finance responsibilities include daily bookkeeping and accounting functions, including cash receipts journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Primary human resource and benefits responsibilities include payroll processing, benefits administration, and maintenance of employee records. The Staff Accountant and HR Coordinator reports to the Director of Finance and Operations.

HR Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Manage employee benefits in consultation with our external HR consultant • Maintain all human resource-related files and records • Ensure compliance with background checks, verification of credentials (education, professional licenses, and certifications), reference checks, etc. for new hires • Assist in the payroll process including follow up with employee inquiries • Responsible for compiling and maintaining data related to employment. Responsible for ongoing submission of all relevant data toward benchmarking surveys, including annual DASL, Mandated Reporter (& other govt surveys), Archdiocese submission • Manage/Coordinate HR compliance related trainings, including annual harassment and discrimination training • Prepare necessary information requested or required for compliance with laws and serve as the initial contact with the school’s employment attorney and outside government agencies • Liaise with School attorney and external HR benefits consultant on the annual review of the Employee Handbook and all associated faculty-related policies • In collaboration with senior administrators, manage the overall staffing process, including alignment of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes and initiatives • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and in compliance with Department of Labor classifications and all local, state, and federal regulations • Work with the Headmistress and Director of Finance & Operations on compensation matters, including salary, benefits, and tuition remission Accounting Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Assist with timely and accurate accounting of the general ledger, cash receipts and development journal entries • Assist with the closing of each fiscal period and year end. • Assist with year-end audit • Responsible for the record keeping and process related to the School’s fixed assets including preparing and reconciling asset and depreciation reports. • Oversee preparation of monthly reports for various reporting entities. • Provide analysis and resolution of complex accounting and GAAP reporting issues.
