Robert Half IT Help Desk Specialist in New York, New York

Description We are offering an opportunity for a skilled IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team in New York. This role is integral to our IT department, focusing on providing technical support to our internal team members. You will be key in troubleshooting technical issues, managing our servers and VPN technologies, and ensuring the smooth operation of our service desk. This is a contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to team members, resolving issues in a timely manner

• Manage and maintain servers, ensuring their efficiency and reliability

• Operate and troubleshoot VPN technologies to provide secure remote access

• Run the service desk, addressing and escalating issues as needed

• Utilize Microsoft technologies to support daily operations

• Identify technical issues proactively and implement effective solutions

• Work collaboratively with the IT team to improve systems and processes

• Provide training and support to team members on new systems and technologies

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and best practices

• Ensure all IT policies and procedures are adhered to. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Experience in managing servers and ensuring their smooth operation

• Proven track record in Service Desk management, prioritizing and resolving technical issues efficiently

• Ability to provide technical support to clients and staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues

• Knowledge and understanding of VPN technologies and their application in ensuring secure remote connectivity

• Strong leadership abilities to manage a team, delegate tasks, and monitor performance

• Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, other departments, and clients effectively

• Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT service management

• Relevant certifications in IT or related field would be an asset

• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues promptly

• Willingness to stay updated on the latest technology trends and apply them in the work environment
