How you will make an impact

  • Perform review and verification of source documents

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential

  • Manage payroll information requests and questions

  • Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

  • Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Manage employee deductions and other liabilities

  • Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

  • Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities

  • Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads

  • Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll

  • Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary Requirements - Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired

  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

  • Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

  • Certified Payroll Professional designation favored

  • Knowledge of internal controls

  • Deep understanding of ADP Workforce Now

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Weekly Payroll

  • Foundational knowledge in Reconcile Payroll

  • Knowledge of union payroll

  • Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
