Robert Half Software Engineer Frontend in New York, New York

Description We are seeking a Software Engineer in the Education industry to join our team in New York. The role involves being proficient in the MERN stack, working with APIs, and maintaining and debugging existing code.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize your proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js to develop and maintain software applications

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot integrations between various systems

• Work closely with APIs to ensure seamless data flow and integration

• Continuously maintain and debug existing code to ensure optimal functionality and user experience

• Collaborate with team members to understand end-user requirements and use cases, then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution

• Implement new software features and improve the performance of existing features

• Maintain code integrity and organization, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Develop and maintain robust and scalable software solutions to cater to the education industry's unique needs

• Stay informed of advancements in the field of software engineering and introduce new technologies where appropriate. Requirements • Applicants must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer, specifically within the education industry, is required.

• Strong proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js is necessary.

• Ability to develop software in various languages including Java, C++, and Python.

• Demonstrated understanding of the software development lifecycle.

• Experience in designing interactive applications.

• Ability to document requirements and specifications.

• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.

• An understanding of educational software and tools will be highly advantageous.

• Applicants must be able to work well in a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
