Robert Half Sr. Accountant in New York, New York

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in New York. In this role, you will be expected to oversee various financial activities within the organization and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including adjusting journal entries, deferred revenue reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliation

• Reconcile all cash equivalent general ledger accounts activities daily and bank statements monthly

• Monitor credit card batches from our payment processors and reconcile them against NetSuite

• Conduct inventory reconciliation including monthly inventory comparison with 3PL and inventory-related accrual accounts

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements

• File sales and use, corporate and commercial rent tax forms monthly and quarterly

• Work to ensure compliance with tax laws

• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Utilize accounting software and ERP system, Netsuite, to manage financial data effectively

• Prepare (quarterly) licensors' royalty reports.

Key skills include Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, and SAP. Requirements • Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Experience in creating and managing journal entries.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.

• Knowledge of Oracle for database management and financial applications.

• Familiarity with SAP for enterprise resource planning and financial management.

• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

• Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and identifying trends.

• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information and collaborating with team members.

• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred.

• Minimum of five years of experience in an accounting role.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
