Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in New York. In this role, you will be tasked with implementing financial principles, accounting practices, and financial analysis techniques in our organization. You'll also be required to present complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner, identify issues, and develop practical solutions. Responsibilities:

• Drive company budgeting, profitability analysis, and financial modeling

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision making

• Build budgets and forecast spending by working with team leaders and analyzing financials

• Analyze company’s historical and current portfolio and forecast the potential financial impact of incremental growth and new customers

• Analyze gross margins across various business segments, support the building of program/financial models

• Evaluate and refine pricing strategies to maximize profitability

• Analyze and present business segments gross margin monthly and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reach economies of scale

• Create P& L models for real-time reporting on profit gross margins and operating expenses

• Implement financial work flows such as reviewing year-to-year financial performance and creating forecasts

• Conduct financial reporting in QuickBooks and analyze month to month financial reports

• Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimize financial resources

• Supervise the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations

• Create and process invoices, accounts, and payments

• Manage daily Accounts Payable process, including following up on vendor payments and vendor relationships

• Connect with internal staff and as well as partner schools and customers to secure payment for outstanding invoices

• Lead independent projects related to finance initiatives.

Requirements • Candidate must have extensive experience in the role of a Sr. Accountant or a similar role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary.

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is required.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting is essential.

• Experience in Month End Close procedures is mandatory.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks for managing financial tasks is required.

• Expertise in Budgeting and fiscal management is necessary.

• Excellent analytical skills to interpret and analyze financial data.

• Strong communication skills to present financial information clearly.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Relevant certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) would be advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations is required.

• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
