Description We are in search of a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team located in New York, New York. This role revolves around maintaining financial procedures and ensuring all accounting activities are accurate and timely. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and other accounting duties, within a SaaS industry environment. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable and receivable activities
• Conduct regular ledger entries and maintain financial records
• Perform month-end close procedures
• Manage bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Oversee payroll activities and ensure accurate processing
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting functions
• Assist in the preparation of Profit and Loss statements
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Perform other related duties as necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Understanding of General Ledger accounting
• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
