Robert Half Access Ops Agent in Newark, California
Description We are searching for an Access Ops Agent to join our team. This role is based in Newark, California and serves an important function in our health care operations. We offer a long-term contract employment opportunity with this role. As an Access Ops Agent, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and clinic staff, managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls and other communications.
Responsibilities:
• Handle and coordinate high-volume inbound and outbound calls, faxes, and other communications with patients, providers, clinic staff, and others requiring access to health care services.
• Schedule, edit, and maintain routine patient and physician appointments for new and returning patients.
• Facilitate communication between patients and physicians or clinics, delivering expert knowledge regarding clinic-specific processes.
• Accurately document and route calls to the appropriate department, identifying urgent customer needs or operational issues and escalating appropriately.
• Work with care teams, patients, and outside facilities to obtain necessary information required for care.
• Update insurance information and maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Ensure all activities meet regulatory and compliance standards, following documented protocols and guidelines.
• Use reference documents and online knowledgebase tools to provide accurate information regarding services.
• Utilize the functionality of the telephone system as required.
• Perform other departmental duties as assigned. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in customer service and communication
• Experience in operations and answering inbound calls is crucial
• Ability to schedule appointments and handle both inbound and outbound calls efficiently
• Proficiency in database management and scheduling
• Knowledge of insurance, financial notes, and facility management
• Familiarity with clinical trial operations and medical records management
• Understanding of various protocols and compliance functions
• Ability to distribute faxes effectively
• Editing skills are a plus
• Knowledge of health care industry and medical terminology is highly desirable
• Experience with Epic Software and phone systems is preferred
• Prior experience working in clinics and contact centers
• Ability to route incoming calls based on business logic
• Must have the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
