Robert Half Billing Specialist in Newark, New Jersey
Description We are looking for a dedicated Billing Clerk to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. This role involves handling various tasks related to billing, including collecting and entering claim information, managing accounts, and following up with insurance carriers. You will also be responsible for answering patient inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely billing, and monitoring account activities.
Responsibilities:
• Accurate collection and entry of claim information
• Posting insurance and patients and managing accounts
• Submission of claims and follow-up with insurance carriers on unpaid or rejected claims
• Responding to patient inquiries on account status and charges
• Ensuring accurate billing and timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims
• Monitoring claim status, researching rejections and denials, and documenting related account activities
• Preparation of bills and invoices, and documentation of amounts due for medical procedures and services
• Collection and review of referrals and pre-authorizations
• Monitoring and recording of late payments
• Utilization of various tech platforms, including insurance portals and Microsoft Excel. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Billing Clerk or in a similar role
• Proficient in billing and billing collection procedures
• Hands-on experience with billing functions such as Medicaid Billing and Insurance Billing
• Solid understanding of handling Claim Denials and Insurance Denials
• Familiarity with Insurance Authorization procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze billing data
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
