Robert Half Procurement Specialist in Newark, New Jersey
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist in Newark, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, working in a fast-paced industry. The role involves preparing and maintaining bids, auditing supplier invoices, and providing customer support among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and publication of Bids, RFP’s, and RFQ’S for online bidding systems.
• Handle the placement of Bid notices and other Legal Notices in authorized Newspapers.
• Manage the lease and rental of vehicles.
• Create and approve Purchase Orders through the procurement program.
• Conduct audits of supplier invoices against contract terms to ensure proper billing.
• Review received bids for compliance with all requested documents.
• Provide comprehensive customer support to staff regarding purchasing forms and procedures.
• Foster a positive team atmosphere with other procurement associates.
• Stay informed about innovations in government procurement contracting and HUD issues and policies.
• Prepare Bid Reports, Notices of Award, and Board Resolutions.
• Undertake any other duties assigned. Requirements • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in CRM and ERP Solutions, specifically with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Familiarity with the software 'About Time'
• Understanding of Budget Processes and Buying Processes
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to handle and process invoices
• Knowledge of HUD (Housing and Urban Development) guidelines and regulations
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise good judgement
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
