Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time- Hybrid Schedule available
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will work closely with the finance team and other departments to support our manufacturing operations. This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule, allowing for flexibility.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Cost Accounting: Implement and maintain cost accounting processes, including tracking and analyzing production costs, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead and participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts. Provide financial insights and recommendations based on analysis.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and resolving audit inquiries.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file various tax returns, including sales tax, property tax, and corporate income tax. Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and changes.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting and finance department, and implement best practices.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, procurement, and inventory management, to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake special projects and analyses as assigned by management.
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Great attention to detail
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
ERP system experience
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
