Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Newberg, Oregon

Description

Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Administrator based in Newberg, Oregon, United States. This role centers around supporting both the Accounting and HR departments, with a focus on payroll responsibilities. You will also provide employee and managerial support in several areas, such as time and labor maintenance, reporting, and other payroll-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all payroll changes and new employee setups in Paycom and other benefits websites.

• Review and audit biweekly timesheets for associates.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing, reconciliation, and submission of payroll.

• Complete payroll and benefits-related tracking and reporting, including labor reports, head count report, annual worker’s compensation reporting, verifications of income, unemployment claims, and 401K compliance testing payroll reports.

• Collaborate with employees, management, and Human Resources to resolve any payroll issues or questions.

• Set up, track, and manage PTO accruals.

• Handle processing of garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders.

• Code, verify, and process monthly medical and dental insurance invoices.

• Prepare accounting journal entry for payroll for month-end processing.

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations related to payroll line items.

• Manage sales commissions and review and process them.

• Perform data entry of vendor invoices.

• Carry out other tasks as needed and assigned by management.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of Excel formulas

• Solid experience in Accounting Functions, including General Ledger management

• Familiarity with Benefit Functions related to payroll administration

• Experience in Check Processing and managing commissions

• Proficiency in using Paycom payroll system

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Relevant certification or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
