This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Newport, Washington region. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Candidates who know how to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will do well in this role along with creative types who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

    Requirements - Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hospital Revenue Cycle

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
